BLOG: Social Networking Sites

I don't actually spend too much time on social media, but the main social media sites that I view as the most popular are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr. Back in High School, Tumblr was a pretty big thing and was essentially a blog that allowed people to share funny pictures and videos. It was very much a mixture of Instagram and Twitter but not nearly as popular. Twitter is something that's very similar to blog but instead with 2 sentence posts that update everyone on what you're doing at every possible chance. Instagram is a platform that allows people to express themselves with pictures rather than words. I think Facebook has all of the functionalities of these 3 sites and has everything that you could possibly want in a social networking site. This is probably the reason it's the most popular, but every social networking site has its own feel and personality and it's up to the user to choose one they enjoy. All of these sites encourage communication and expression which is something typical of social networking sites.
